Assistant

An MCP server over the same archive as the app, for an assistant to search, read and answer from your own history.

What it is

everysaid mcp is a Model Context Protocol server. An assistant that speaks MCP (a desktop chat app, a coding agent, your own tools) reads the same archive as the app, through the same core: the same people, the same chats across services, the same search.

“What did Nikos and I decide about the flat, and when?” · “Who did I talk to on the 3rd of May?” · “Find the photo Clara sent of the boat.” · “How often do I call my sister?”

On the same machine

Over stdio, the assistant starts it itself:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "everysaid": { "command": "/path/to/everysaid", "args": ["mcp"] }
  }
}

From another machine

Over HTTP, at the server’s /mcp, with a bearer token:

https://everysaid.example.org/mcp
Authorization: Bearer <token>

Make a token in the app’s settings, or on the server:

everysaid user mcp-token                 # a new token
everysaid user mcp-tokens # the tokens there are
everysaid user mcp-token --revoke ID # end one

A switch in Settings, General closes every assistant’s access at once, in sessions already open too, and opens it again.

The tools

Tool What it does
search_messages search every message, accents ignored, by chat, service and dates
list_chats, get_chat, read_chat the chats, one chat’s details, its messages
list_messages, message_context messages in a range, a message with the ones around it
find_people, get_person people by name, number or address, and one in full
get_direct_chat, last_interaction a person’s chat across services, and the last time you spoke
list_calls calls, of the phone and the apps
day_timeline everything of one day, in order
statistics counts by service, person and time
find_media, download_media the files of a chat, and a file itself
send_note a reminder into your own notes to yourself, on WhatsApp or Viber

Reading is free. The few changes an assistant can make (a person’s name, a note about them, a file stored in your photo library) are meant only with your approval, and the tools tell it so. The one thing it can send is text into your notes to yourself: never to anyone else.
